This page
checks your browser settings to ensure that the Quantum
Tutors will run correctly on your computer. Green check marks
indicate that your browser configuration is correct. A red "X"
indicates that a change to your browser setting is required. Click
each link in the left column for instructions on how to enable
each function in your browser.
Please note -- you SHOULD NOT attempt to login to the UMS until ALL of your browser settings are correct.
If any of
the boxes contain a red "X", please see the instructions
below to modify your browser settings for those items. Once you
have reconfigured your browser, please check this page again to
ensure that all of your settings are correct (indicated by green
check marks). For example, if you have more than one pop-up blocker
running, you will need to disable all of them before you will
see a green check mark in the “Pop-ups enabled” category.
How to enable JavaScript in your browser:
To enable
JavaScript, follow the instructions below for the browser version
you are using.
Internet Explorer
5.x, 6.x
Open Internet Explorer.
Select "Internet Options" from the "Tools"
menu.
In the "Internet Options" dialog box, select the
"Security" tab.
Click the "Custom Level" button at the bottom. The
"Security Settings" dialog box will pop up.
Under the "Scripting" category, enable "Active
Scripting, allow paste options via script and Scripting of Java
applets".
Check both "Enable Java" and "Enable JavaScript
for Navigator".
Click "OK".
How to enable Cookies in your browser:
To enable
Cookies, follow the instructions below for the browser version
you are using.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0+
Select "Internet Options" from the "Tools" menu.
Click on the "Privacy" tab.
Click the "Default" button, or manually slide the bar down
to at least "Medium High", under "Settings".
Click "OK".
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x
Select "Internet Options" from the "Tools" menu.
Click on the "Security" tab.
Click on the "Custom Level" button.
Scroll down to the "Cookies" section.
Set "Allow per-session cookies" to "Enable".
Click "OK".
Firefox 1.x
Open Firefox.
Select "Options" from the "Tools" menu.
Click "Privacy" on the top menu.
Click the "Cookies" tab.
Check the box next to "Allow sites to set cookies".
Click "OK".
Netscape 7.x/Mozilla 5.x
Select "Preferences" from the "Edit" menu.
Click on the arrow next to "Privacy & Security"
in the scrolling window to expand.
Under "Privacy & Security", select "Cookies".
Select "Allow cookies based on privacy settings"
under the "Cookie Acceptance Policy" section.
Select "Accept for current session only" under "Cookie Lifetime Policy" section.
Click "OK".
How to enable Pop-ups in your browser:
In addition
to browser-specific pop-up blockers, there are numerous other
software application that include pop-up blockers, such as Norton
Internet Security, Google Toolbar, etc. We have included instructions
and links for many packages, but could not account for every type
of blocker. If you do not find information on your specific pop-up
blocker below, please check the Help section of your pop-up blocker
software for instructions on how to enable pop-ups for specific
sites.
